Ayrton Senna da Silva (1960–1994) was born in São Paulo and became one of the greatest drivers in the history of Formula 1. He began karting at a very young age and, over time, stood out for his dedication, perfectionism, and strong desire to win. He entered Formula 1 in 1984 and quickly attracted attention for his speed and his ability to extract the maximum performance from the car.
Throughout his career, Senna raced for teams such as Toleman, Lotus, McLaren, and Williams. He was a three-time World Champion (1988, 1990, and 1991) and achieved 41 victories and 65 pole positions, figures that highlight his exceptional talent, particularly in qualifying laps and in the most decisive moments of races.
Senna’s connection to Brazil was always intense and deeply emotional. He raced with the pride of representing his country and celebrated each achievement as a collective victory. One of the most memorable moments of this connection occurred at the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix in Interlagos, when he secured his first Formula 1 victory at home. In the final laps, facing serious problems with his car, he kept it under control at the limit until the checkered flag, finishing the race completely exhausted. That victory became a symbol of determination, resilience, and passion for the sport.
Ayrton Senna passed away in 1994 during a race weekend. Nevertheless, his legacy lives on. Through the intensity with which he competed, his absolute dedication, and the inspiration he left both on and off the track, he continues to be remembered as one of the greatest drivers in the history of motorsport.
